Description

Calacatta Mist is quarried in Vermont. The quarry is a bedrock quarry that has been open and operating for more than 100 years. Currently there are three entrances into the quarry with a fourth opening soon. The quarry is entirely inside the mountain and reaches almost one mile deep. Calacatta Mist comes from one of the eight different levels in this quarry. The 1-1/4" honed slabs can be used for kitchen countertop use because this is one of the most dense white stones in the market. Although white marble can scratch, etch or stain when it is installed in a kitchen, if you are willing to keep it sealed and understand the recommended maintenance, it will be a beautiful addition to any home. Due to the qualities of the stone, the slabs are book-matched; meaning slab one and slab two will be cut and polished to create a mirror image of each other. These are then kept in sequence, which allows for a consistent flow in pattern.

This marble is also known as Eureka Danby.
