Description

Crema Marfil is quarried from a bedrock quarry in a mountain range near Novelda, Spain. Arizona Tile carries two selections of Crema Marfil including Crema Dorado, which is available only in tile. Characteristically, Crema Marfil has less veining and a clearer background color, while Crema Dorado visibly, has more veins and fill. It is a common characteristic for this stone to have voids in the raw material. Before it reaches the polishing stages, these voids are filled with a polyester resin. Depending on how deep the void is, the resin may shrink as it dries, leaving the surface of the filled area slightly lower than the rest. This does not affect the durability, maintenance or beauty of the stone. Arizona Tile also offers Crema Marfil as a product in our tumbled program, which will offer a multitude of mosaics and tile sizes that will provide a more unique style to any design. As a natural stone product it is recommended that it be sealed to extend its longevity.
