Description

Earth Slate is quarried from a pit quarry in Markapur, India. It is a sedimentary stone that is composed mainly of calcite calcium carbonate. This material's dense structure mimics that of natural slate, while the physical components technically classify it as a limestone. Earth lacks iron minerals that have the potential for rusting and is much denser than others, making it one of the few slate products that is suitable for wet area applications. Earth is manually cut, resulting in a slight variation in size between tiles. Because of this, it is not recommended that it be installed with anything less than a 1/4” grout joint. There will be noticeable variations in color and movement between pieces. Therefore, it is important and recommended that a range of this product be viewed before finalizing a purchase.
