Honey is quarried near the city of Denizli, Turkey. This is a sedimentary stone that is formed in hot springs and is composed mainly of calcite calcium carbonate. Three days prior to honing, this travertine is filled with a colored cement to fill in these cavities. During the dry summer months the cement will cure more quickly than it will during the more humid parts of the year. Because of this fluctuation in curing, it is normal for the tone of
the fill to differ between seasons. As a natural stone product, it is recommended that this be sealed to extend its longevity.
