The Marciano Pattern is composed of travertine that is quarried from a bedrock quarry in Turkey. This particular material has a brushed finish and a chiseled edge, giving it a truly unique texture. There will be noticeable variations in color and movement between pieces. Therefore it is important and recommended that a range of this product be viewed before finalizing a purchase. The chiseled edges of this pattern can make the grout joint appear much larger if not wiped clean during installation. So, it is important to ensure that the edges are cleaned thoroughly after grouting. All travertine stones will have natural cavities, or pits, visible in the stone that were developed when carbon dioxide bubbles became trapped during the formation of the stone.
