Marron Cohiba Satin is quarried in the Huila Region of Angola. It is formed of unevenly shaped dark brown crystals often with metallic mica reflections. Often times, these crystals will show fine white streaks that are usually only visible in larger portions of the stone. The Satin finish helps to mute the white crystal veins. During the finishing process, an epoxy resin is applied to the surface of the stone to fill in any natural pits, cracks or fissures that may exist. This does not affect the durability, maintenance or beauty of the stone. It is possible for some of the more minute pits that are too small to effectively hold the resin, to reopen during other finishing stages. However, this will not detract from the overall quality or appearance of the stone. Finally, a mesh backing is adhered to the back of the stone. Thre will be noticeable variations in color and movement between pieces. Therefore, it is important and recommended that a range of this product be viewed before finalizing a purchase. As a natural stone product, it is recommended that this be sealed to extend its longevity.

This granite is also known as Bronze Damask, Brown Antique or New Labrador Antique.
