The Nimara Pattern is composed of Troy Classic travertine, which is quarried near the city of Denizli, Turkey. The chiseled edges of the pieces in the pattern, along with the unfilled surface, give this pattern an old-world, rustic appearance. The chiseled edges of this pattern can make the grout joint appear much larger if not wiped clean during installation. So, it is important to ensure that the edges are cleaned thoroughly after grouting.
Troy Classic is a sedimentary stone that is formed in hot springs and is composed of calcite calcium carbonate. All travertine stones will have natural cavities, or pits, visible in the stone that developed when carbon dioxide bubbles became trapped during the formation of the stone. As an unfilled travertine, the pits will remain visible and unfilled until they are filled with grout during installation. Overall, this will provide a more natural aesthetic to the installation of this stone. The classic version of a stone will identify it as having more distinct characteristics. Classic travertine products will have larger, more prominent pits and a higher variation of color between pieces. Therefore, it is important and recommended that a range of this product be viewed before finalizing a purchase.
