The Nu Travertine Series is a color body porcelain that is produced to emulate travertine stone. The unbelievable similarities between this product and actual travertine were made possible due to new, digital, inkjet technology. First, a worldwide search was conducted to find the best pieces of travertine. Second, each and every piece was digitally scanned. Next, all of those images were blended together to create the perfect balance, which resulted in numerous faces/patterns. These faces were then used to print onto the surface of the tile, using the same type of digital/inkjet technology that is used when printing onto paper from your computer. However, in this application, the printing penetrates 2mm into the surface of the tile.
Because this material is a porcelain product, minimal maintenance is required, while sharing similar, beautiful visual characteristics of natural stone. Nu Travertine is stocked in three sizes, plus a 2"x2" mosaic. There is a size difference between the 12”x24” matte and 12”x24” polished. The polished version is slightly smaller due to it being rectified. This series is available in three natural hues, each of which provides significant tonal contrasts between pieces, imitating the exceptional qualities of natural stone. There can be noticeable variances between pieces, so it is important and recommended that a range of this product be viewed before finalizing a purchase. This series is suitable for residential and light commercial applications.
