Slippage & Safety<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A bathroom is not only a space to relax and reflect, it also should be designed to be as safe as possible. Getting in and out of a freestanding tub can create a bit of a challenge as there is often not much to grab onto. A slip and fall will always be a risk. \u00a0This is why Arizona Tile considers the Dynamic Coefficient of Friction<\/a> (DCOF) rating for all of our products, and that all of our standard finish porcelain tile series meets the standard rating of \u22650.42.<\/p>\n

The DCOF measurement is not a true measurement of the flooring, but rather a measurement of the interaction between the flooring and what is being placed on it. It can be a useful comparison of tile surfaces, but it cannot predict the likelihood a person will or will not slip on a tile surface. Because many variables affect the risk of a slip occurring, the DCOF test results should not be the only factor in determining the appropriateness of a tile for a particular application. DCOF testing isn\u2019t a code requirement for household projects, only for commercial use. Unless you’re doing bathroom design projects, such as for a hotel or spa, it\u2019s likely just something that\u2019s good to know about your tile.<\/p>\n
