For Monica Macha, founder of Monica Macha Design, bringing each client’s vision to life is her goal. Based in Boise, Idaho, Monica brings over 25 years of experience in high-end residential design to every project, blending timeless elegance with modern sensibilities. Her latest endeavor\u2014a new-construction home with an accessory dwelling unit (ADU)\u2014showcases her signature style: warm, modern, and organic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her Design Approach<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Monica\u2019s design approach requires thoughtful collaboration; therefore, she works closely with her clients, architects, and builders to develop a cohesive plan that emphasizes the project\u2019s goals. To help her clients visualize their future homes and remodels, Monica creates digital renderings that bring the project to life. For this particular project, Monica turned to Arizona Tile to help bring her vision to life. This home, designed for multi-generational living, required a cohesive aesthetic across the main residence and the additional dwelling. Monica\u2019s goal was to create a luxurious yet approachable environment\u2014one that felt elevated but still warm and inviting. Primary Bathroom<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the primary bathroom, Monica used Shibusa Crema 24×48 porcelain<\/a> tile to wrap the ceilings, floors, and walls. This choice was instrumental in creating a spa-like atmosphere, which is a popular design approach. With its soft, creamy tones, the tile complemented the custom sauna wood finishes, creating a serene oasis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Shibusa Crema tile created the spa-like vibe I was looking for,\u201d Monica explains. \u201cIt blended perfectly with the custom sauna wood tones.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kitchen and Guest Bathroom<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The ADU kitchen and guest bathroom also benefited from Monica\u2019s thoughtful material selections. Ripieno Honed Quartz<\/a> was chosen for its rich veining and luxurious honed texture. In the ADU kitchen, it served as a functional yet elegant countertop surface. Monica also specified Ripieno Honed Quartz for the guest bath, using it as both a countertop and a full-height backsplash. This application added drama and sophistication, elevating the design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Safety and beauty were equally important in the guest bathroom. Monica selected Unica Moon 24×48 porcleain tile with our R11 Finish for the flooring, including the shower.
