The 2014 color predictions by Sherwin Williams are out! This year, the four neutral color palettes are modern yet somehow give a nod to the past.

Reasoned:

“Gray is the new black, and math is sexy.”

Salt and pepper are the spice of life and these colors are the perfect neutrals.

  • Basaltina
  • Hampton
  • Fibra
  • Linac
  • Manhattan
  • Diamond White
  • H-Line
  • Urban Listelles

Diaphanous:

“Picture a pearl veiled by chiffon: a soft gleam behind gossamer fabric.”

These gauzy colors are romantic and feminine. They hint at cosmetic colors or white foods with names like “Nonchalant White”, “Steamed Milk” and “Spun Sugar”.

Suggested products:

  • Calcutta
  • Taj Mahal Quartzite
  • Skylights Cashew
  • Touch
  • H-Line
  • Sandstone

-Curiosity:

“Bio-design, inspired by nature at the molecular level, brings weirdly organic patterns, textures and colors into the mix, inviting us to see strange things in intriguing new ways. Oddities are now objects of fascination, even desire.”

This palette is filled with deeply saturated colors. Not for the shy of heart, think geodes and gems, peacocks and marine life.

Suggested product options:

  • WF
  • Shimmer SL-Russet
  • Aphrodite
  • Mineral Mosaics Stainless
  • Polished Alloy

Intrinsic:

“Handmade lace, embroidery, batik and other ethnic dyeing techniques lend an earthy, folkloric aesthetic to this new Bohemianism.”

This palette is filled with bold, vibrant colors. You can’t be sad when you surround yourself with these cheerful hues.

Suggested product options:

  • Bronzo Satin
  • Cyprus Orange
  • Soapstone
  • Unicolore Violet
  • Café Forest
  • Salina Red
