Calacatta Gold Vein is quarried from a bedrock quarry in the Apuan Mountains near Carrara, Italy. Italy is famous for its white marble and for supplying different types of Calacatta. Calacatta Gold Vein has a clean, white background with grey/gold veins. The use of white marble for kitchen countertops has been increasing over the past few years. Although white marble can scratch, etch or stain because it is a softer stone, if you are willing to keep it sealed and understand the recommended maintenance, it will be a beautiful addition to any home. Due to the qualities of the stone, the slabs are book-matched; meaning slab one and slab two will be cut and polished to create a mirror image of each other. As a natural stone product, it is recommended that this be sealed to extend its longevity.
