3/4″ (2cm slab)
Negro Marquina is a marble quarried from a bedrock quarry in the Basque Country located in the western Pyrenees on the border between France and Spain. This distinctive black marble will have varying amounts of white veins on each shipment. The small white spots in the slab are fossils and shells. Due to the qualities of the stone, the slabs are book-matched; meaning slab one and slab two will be cut and polished to create a mirror image of each other. These are then kept in sequence, which allows for a consistent flow in pattern. Finally, a mesh backing is adhered to the back of the stone to ensure safety while handling and fabricating the slab or tile.
Piece to piece variation in shade or color are inherent in all-natural stone products; therefore, when installing natural stone tile, it is recommended to mix tiles from several boxes at a time during installation to achieve the best range of color. As natural stone products, it is recommended that these be sealed to extend their longevity.
