About Melissa

Born and raised in Arizona, AlwaysMeliss, aka Melissa, and her family live in a semi-custom home that they built in 2020. Since then, they have been continually working to give it the perfect lived-in, yet clean and inviting feel. As first-time homeowners, Melissa and her husband strived to make this home uniquely theirs. They achieved this by incorporating contemporary touches balanced with warm, timeless elements, creating a modern traditional vibe.

While they started working on this home as a family of two, they are now a family of three. The new trio can feel confident that Arizona Tile products will withstand extra feet running across them and cake-battered fingers touching them, as their selected porcelain and ceramic tiles are durable, versatile, and easy to clean and maintain. Kitchen Backsplash Tile

A kitchen backsplash adds a wonderful aesthetic, but it also protects the wall from the inevitable splashes and splatters. Easy to wipe clean so you can move right into the next life-demanding task, our ceramic tile won’t only make your life prettier, it’ll make it easier.

In her kitchen, Melissa created a beautifully neutral backsplash using our Spark White Picket tile, finished with a Flash Series Pencil Bullnose for the trim.

While it may seem like she mixed two tile collections, the Spark and Flash series were actually designed to complement each other. Spark is available in just two colors (White and Ivory) and includes shapes like Picket, Hexagon, 5×5, 3×12 and a 3/8×5 Pencil Bullnose. The Picket and Hexagon are offered in both matte and glossy finishes, while the other sizes in the Spark Series are only available in Matte, since their glossy counterparts are part of the Flash Series.

That’s why Melissa opted for a Flash trim. The Flash White Glossy Pencil Bullnose is the perfect match in both color and finish, creating a seamless, polished look.

Ultimately, Melissa settled on Spark White Glossy Picket and Flash White 3/8×5 Pencil Bullnose ceramic tile. The added glamour and charm of her selections truly enhance this space. While they offer rich visual appeal, ceramic tiles are refreshingly simple to clean and maintain. To restore its timeless luster, simply wipe the tile surface with a damp sponge… that’s all. But if you feel you’re due for some deeper cleaning, add a pH-balanced neutral cleaner to the damp sponge, then rinse and dry the surface, and you’re done!

Tile Flooring

One of the most notable features of Melissa’s home is her flooring. Flooring was a very important element for her family ,  something she’s even written about in her blog, as they wanted a practical option to conform with their lifestyle and  every day routines. Therefore, they opted against their original beloved hardwood floors and selected our porcelain tile wood-look planks. This was the perfect answer to their needs and desire, as they still gained the aesthetic they craved, but alleviated concerns about potential damage and maintenance issues.

Our wood-emulating tile is a great option inside or outside and truly captures the visual essence of wood, minus the worry. Porcelain tile is more dense than ceramic, and its heightened durability makes it scratch-, stain-, and water-resistant; ideal  for high-traffic areas.
