Numerous bathroom designs are trending so far in 2025, which we expect to continue well into next year, and we want to share them with you! These trends are not only intended to help formulate design ideas, but also to inspire you with our high-quality, pointed design materials so you can get the most out of your new bathroom.

To provide you with the best bathroom design trends, let’s examine some specific bathroom design features individually: spa-like experience, soothing and neutral colors, natural stone slabs, and walk-in showers. With information from 67 leading interior design experts and home staging professionals, FIXR created a comprehensive report on trending bathroom designs, and we want to share their findings with you.

Spa-Like Bathroom Experience

When designing a bathroom, especially a primary bathroom, chances are you want design elements that encourage more than just a quick shower before jumping back into the chaos of the day. With that said, designers are finding that about 78% of homeowners are prioritizing spa-like features in their bathrooms, a significant increase from 2024, when the figure was only around 56%.

Interior designer and entrepreneur Kerrie Kelly stated,

“In 2025, bathrooms are transforming into personal wellness retreats. We’re seeing a focus on spa-like elements—think steam showers, freestanding tubs, and integrated aromatherapy.”

Designers find that 43% of homeowners seek added comfort by incorporating nature-inspired elements, such as natural wood, bamboo cabinetry, and stone or wood to create a personal oasis. Taj Mahal quartzite is a great stone to create a spa-like feel in your own home. Featured in the photo above, Taj Mahal pairs well with CS-Terra Nova marble for seamless movement from the shower walls to the floor. Adding lush plants or aromatics, such as eucalyptus or lavender, to the mix only enhances the benefits of your personal spa.

When it comes to natural stone products, we have an exquisite inventory. Although we don’t offer natural wood materials, we do have several porcelain products, like our Aequa series, that emulate the look of wood, providing the same warmth and texture to the space. Additionally, porcelain requires minimal maintenance, is incredibly durable, and is long-lasting, making it a true win-win.

Soothing and Neutral Bathroom Colors

Colors make a world of difference when designing any space. Every color has a distinct psychological appeal and determining the color palette will establish the mood of your space – for example, warm and inviting tones versus cool, calming colors. Once the color palette is decided, the next step is to decide what materials will be used (tile, natural stone, quartz, or a combination) within that color scheme.  For a neutral tone that offers a calming vibe, Tru Marmi in its large-format design or the S-Series in its classic wall-tile design each provide a long-lasting, easy-to-clean surface.

Soft whites and warm neutrals are an excellent choice when emphasizing serenity, while others may incorporate earthy hues, such as light blue and shades of green. Sixty-nine percent of professionals believe that incorporating soothing color palettes is the most effective way to achieve a spa-like bathroom. Advised  interior expert Shivani Vyas,

“A soothing color palette, like soft whites and warm neutrals, always boosts a serene environment… When you pick neutrals, you’re setting up your space for easy refreshes (and less complete redos) in the future!”

Blue Tahoe is a natural stone that projects earthy, neutral elements in a soft blue, incorporating a sense of serenity through its veining and color.

Alongside the use of soothing or neutral colors, natural light is also important to bring nature into the space, according to 24% of the designers polled. Pair these two elements together, and the spa-like feeling of your bathroom will really begin to shine.

Not only does this bathroom radiate with natural light, but the use of Anthea large-format tile flooring creates a bright, expansive feel. That same aesthetic is carried into the shower and wet room area, where the same Anthea large format tile is featured in the R11 Anti-Slip Finish, providing added slip resistance where it’s needed most.

Natural Stone Slabs

The love of natural stone is not a new concept, but interior design experts continue to confirm that it remains a popular option. Homeowners love stone, such as granite, quartzite, and marble, because of its luxurious appeal and renowned durability. Additionally, 40% of experts say that pairing such material alongside soft, neutral colors heightens the sense of serenity within a space. Sky Blue Honed marble tile is a great example of this calming effect, seen below on the floor and wall, paired with the crisp white of the Flash series. The Flash series is also a great option because 31% of experts say that tile with a handcrafted look adds a personality not often seen in bathrooms.

All in all, 58% of designers said, “natural stone slabs are set to dominate 2025 bathroom trends,” be it a wall, floor, or shower installation, natural stone will “be part of the overall aesthetic.” We offer a wide range of natural stone slabs and tile that can make a statement on their own or pair with other products, like the neutral tone of Calacatta Umber Honed Marble tile.

While natural stone and porcelain tile have their benefits, we also offer porcelain slabs like our DT-Marvel Fior Di Bosco Soft that resemble natural stone, yet, unlike natural stone, require minimal maintenance. Installed without grout lines, this durable porcelain slab looks great in any bathroom design element.

Walk-In Showers

The love for walk-in showers and wet rooms isn’t necessarily new, but 45% of expert designers agree that “walk-in showers will take center stage,” and 40% agree that wet rooms will be a top trend in design for years to come. Showers of this degree add a more expansive feel to the bathroom, especially when using large-format tile, and minimize cleaning due to fewer grout lines—two very positive factors.

Terra Nova marble tile is a beautiful option featuring a neutral-toned cream color and organic details throughout. Better yet, CS-Terra Nova is the same natural stone, but comes in various sizes and can be used as an accent shower wall tile. For fun, you can accentuate the shower floor with a decorative mesh mount, such as Pebble Mosaics, to bring an enhanced natural touch and safety, as the textured surface minimizes slip hazards.

For a crisp, white bathroom design, the Marvel series’ Calacatta Apuano porcelain paired with Poplar White quartzite creates a clean, airy feel that fosters a calm atmosphere. If your preference is geared more towards porcelain, the Reflexion series’ Bright offers a similar effect.
