If you are designing a bathroom for kids and have spent any time on Pinterest looking for inspiration, you have seen this bathroom. Star Wars Shower Tiles

While this design is inspiring, it probably is more complex than most do-it-yourselfers can handle. It is also not the most practical design. Let’s not discuss resale considerations either – a buyer will either love it or turn and walk away.

If you are thinking about a kid’s bathroom, the best option is something that is neutral, however it is also smart to choose a tile that is durable and easy to clean. This is a no brainer, right? Both porcelain and glass are great options here. They are strong and wipe clean with a gentle cleanser.

If you like the look of the Star Wars mosaic, but would like something a bit more neutral, consider our Shimmer Glass Series. This series will add a splash of color and sparkle that will turn heads, yet it is neutral enough to add value to your home no matter the buyer.

Shimmer Abalone Glass Tile

The Touch series is a glazed porcelain tile that uses digital print technology to recreate the look of textiles. Think of this design as that perfect pair of jeans or khakis that you can pair with anything. It offers great texture that hides fingerprints and smudges that kids often leave behind.

Touch Pearl Glazed Porcelain Tile

Subway tile is a classic tile choice that is great for kid’s bathrooms. While classic white is an option, this great shape is now available in lots of new colors. Consider laying this tile vertically rather than horizontally for a fresh modern look. This design never goes out of style.

Choosing a neutral tile gives you the perfect backdrop that grows with your child. This allows you to say yes to that fun Disney themed shower curtain that they love now but may not love when the tween and teen years hit. And it is much easier to change a shower curtain and accessories from a beloved cartoon character to bright novelty prints to a more “sophisticated” teen design than it is to remove tile!
