DCOF Rating (See Tech Specs Tab) is a measurement of a tiles frictional resistance. It is the specifier’s responsibility to ensure the chosen tile is appropriate for each interior and exterior application.
The Fluida series is an Italian-made rectified color body porcelain. Created using 3D digital print technology, the Fluida porcelain tile design mimics a natural stone with layers of minerals accumulated over time which create visually interesting patterns. Because this material is a porcelain product, minimal maintenance is required.
Continue your indoor tile to your exterior living spaces with Fluida 24 x 48 (available in all colors), which is available in the Active R11 Finishâ„¢. These products maintain the same technical features and performance results as the R11 Anti-Slip Finish and to be certified must pass an internationally recognized analysis showing that a person can maintain balance while standing on the wet tile at an incline of 19 to 27 degrees. The anti-slip effect for the Active R11 Finish is achieved differently than the R11 Anti-Slip Finish. Specific glazes are applied to the surface of the tile, instead of minerals. These glazes are activated when in contact with water and/or in wet conditions, therefore making the tile fully suitable for all outdoor applications (covered or uncovered), poolside applications and wet indoor areas. When dry, the tiles feel very similar to tiles that do not have the Active R11 Finish.
Piece to piece variation in shade or color are inherent in all fired clay products; therefore, it is recommended to mix tiles from several boxes at a time during installation to achieve the best range of color. When mixing sizes within a series, shade, texture, and calibration differences should be expected. This series is suitable for residential and commercial applications.
For proper bonding, medium bed mortar should be used when installing tiles with a dimensional length greater than 15 inches, and rectangular shape and plank tile, per industry standards. Proper thinset coverage is also necessary, and in some cases, back buttering of tile may be required.
