Hi, everyone! We’re Arie and Lauren Luyendyk. You may remember us from season 22 of The Bachelor. We married in 2019 (a year after the show ended) and now have three children, toddler Alessi and infant twins Lux & Senna. We currently live in Arizona, where we decided to update our kids’ bathroom. Follow along with us as we lead you through the process!

Project Background

We really wanted a modern, very functional bathroom that would make bathing and caring for our three young children easy. We also wanted simple, clean lines with a European aesthetic. Arie is Dutch-American, after all! Most importantly, we didn’t want the bathroom to feel at all cluttered.

Our goal was to create a minimalistic bathroom that is both stylish and easy to keep clean since it will be getting plenty of use by three little children. It still had to be comfortable to use, though. Cleanliness and comfort are both very important for our busy family of five!

The bathroom is mostly white with black accents. The light-toned wood on the vanity front brings in a natural element to warm up the space, while the patterned tile floor adds movement and life.

Choosing the Right Tile for the Look We Wanted

We absolutely loved working with Arizona Tile on this project! They saw our vision and helped us bring that exact vision to life. They have so many options for tiles that we were spoiled for choice. We were able to find just the right tiles to match our vision perfectly.

Their Tile Visualizer tool let us picture how different sizes, styles, and colors of tiles might look in our home. While scrolling through the Bathroom Gallery pictures, we saw a lot of different tile and slab bathroom applications. The name of the product is listed right below the photo, along with any available color or pattern options. How handy is that?

We found our TruMarmi hexagonal floor tiles in one of the gallery photos and fell in love. The variations of color and amount of movement in these 4″ glazed porcelain tiles is wonderful. It really added a lot of visual interest to our otherwise very minimalist bathroom. We really enjoyed the process of choosing the tiles for our bathroom from Arizona Tile and definitely look forward to working with them again.
