Indian Premium Black Honed is quarried in a boulder quarry near the town of Warangal, in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. The size and color of each block is fairly consistent between slabs and tile and will have minimal variation. Honing black granite is one of the most difficult processes, because black tends to show buffer marks on the surface. The factory uses a special process in which to limit this, but they will randomly appear on some of the material. However, this is normal and will not affect the beauty of the stone. Because it is such a dense stone, and there are minimal micro fissures and pitting, no resin is applied to the surface. Arizona Tile offers Indian Premium Black in both polished and honed finishes to help accentuate any design.
As a natural stone product, it is recommended that this be sealed to extend its longevity. Natural stone may absorb moisture during fabrication and from installation materials. Therefore, it is recommended that sealing should be done after the stone has fully dried to ensure proper sealer absorption, and prior to consumer use. Drying time will vary depending on the stone, as well as the temperature and humidity level. After sealing, allow it to cure completely. Arizona Tile suggests using a solvent-based impregnating sealer for the initial sealing.
