Hotel Lobby Tile

First impressions will occur in the hotel lobby, and these can make or break a guest’s overall experience. Lobbies establish an ambiance, a sense of quality, and a unique style. Guests take in the lobby before they even speak with front desk staff, so you’ll want to make sure your design stands out and immediately draws guests in to create a positive and unforgettable first impression. Beyond that, , a lobby sees a lot of foot traffic, so the floor tile needs to be stylish yet highly durable. Durable tile is also a smart choice for lobby floors because it beautifully flows into carpeting that may be in a seating area or a carpeted stairway, creating two distinct areas.

It typically makes a space appear larger, plus the larger tile means there will be fewer grout joints, and less grout to clean/maintain. Hotel floor tile design makes an impact in various spaces, both indoors and out. Conference rooms and event spaces, fitness centers, and dining areas are all areas in a hotel where tile flooring is beneficial, from both aesthetic and functional standpoints.

Depending on the overall design vision for your hotel, you may choose your tile flooring to have a uniform style throughout the hotel with coordinating tile or you can create unique designs for specific areas.

Spaces that get a lot of use and have many visitors in the area at once, such as conference rooms and event spaces, will benefit from large-format porcelain tile just like lobbies. You can’t go wrong with Terrazzo (pictured above), Borgo, or Icon tile for these rooms.

Hotel bathroom tile design and tile in pool areas need to be attractive but also safe. For areas exposed to water, or areas outdoors, R11 Anti-Slip Finish tile is a good option to help avoid injuries to guests and staff. Tile in these spaces should also be easy to clean and water and stain resistant.
