Indian Premium Black Satin is quarried in a boulder quarry near the town of Warangal, in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. The size and color of each block is fairly consistent and will have minimal variation. This granite has a brushed finish which gives it a slight texture. The grain structure can change in this granite from shipment to shipment, sometimes showing an open, larger grain and at other times a tighter structure. Because it is such a dense stone, and there are minimal micro fissures and pitting, no resin is applied to the surface. Arizona Tile offers Indian Premium Black in polished and honed finishes as well, to help accentuate any design.
This granite is also known as Absolute Black, Jet Black, or Luna Nero.
As a natural stone product, it is recommended that this be sealed to extend its longevity. Natural stone may absorb moisture during fabrication and from installation materials. Therefore, it is recommended that sealing should be done after the stone has fully dried to ensure proper sealer absorption, and prior to consumer use. Drying time will vary depending on the stone, as well as the temperature and humidity level. After sealing, allow it to cure completely. Arizona Tile suggests using a solvent-based impregnating sealer for the initial sealing.
