Pantone 2025 Color of the Year: Mocha Mousse

New year, new color! For over twenty-five years, Pantone Color Institute has delighted the design world with its new color of the year. It is a selection based on the current mood and attitude across the globe and “highlight[s] the relationship between color and culture.” For 2025, Pantone has selected Mocha Mousse—a warming, brown hue imbued with richness, that “nurtures us with its suggestion of the delectable qualities of chocolate and coffee, answering our desire for comfort.”

Mocha Mousse In most recent years, the colors selected for this feature have been a bit more vibrant, but that has no bearing on their significance, as each color embodies the current forecast across the globe. Brown has gone through phases of popularity, more recently being overlooked by lighter and/or brighter colors, but it is back in the spotlight because of its stunning aesthetics and versatility. One major benefit to brown regarding interior design is that it can pair with a wide variety of palettes and décor. It is an easy color to work with and presents feelings of warmth and comfort. Mocha Mousse lacks intimidation, allowing you to feel comfortable and sophisticated in its presence, plus so much more. This amazing color of the year exudes senses of:

1. Luxury- the colors “subtle elegance and sensorial richness… empowers you to create moments of luxury…”
2. Comfort- being a “flavorful brown shade… [it] envelopes us with its sensorial warmth.” Being a neutral, trend-led fashion color, “this comforting brown brings us into harmony with an ever-changing world.”

With a color as neutral and smooth as Mocha Mousse, any room in your home will benefit from its use in color design. Quartz: Great for kitchen countertops, quartz slabs are incredibly durable, non-porous, easy to maintain, and dazzle like natural stone.

• Crest – Not sure if you want to fully delve into mocha? Crest is a great option. This quartz is greige (grey/beige) with brown and clear detailing throughout, though remaining neutral so it pairs well across the board.  
• Maxim – This quartz slab delights with its creamy white background, taupe veining, and golden accents. While this slab features subtle accents of brown, pairing it with a mocha-colored floor tile or tan backsplash tile will accentuate the brown tones.

Porcelain and Ceramic: Durable and incredibly versatile, both materials perfect any setting from floor (porcelain) to wall (porcelain or ceramic)!
