Black Mist Honed

Black Mist is quarried in a bedrock quarry in Brazil. This granite will have some white quartz veins along with areas of gray, with a black background, the look of this stone is similar to a soapstone, but it will require less maintenance than a soapstone. Like all honed black granites, the raw slabs will have a deep gray color tone. Once a stone enhancer is applied it will bring out the dark, black color of the granite. Black Mist Honed may need to be re-sealed every 6 months for interior use and more often for exterior use. Due to the qualities of the stone, the slabs are book-matched; meaning slab one and slab two will be cut and polished to create a mirror image of each other. These are then kept in sequence, which allows for a consistent flow in pattern.

As a natural stone product, it is recommended that this be sealed to extend its longevity. Natural stone may absorb moisture during fabrication and from installation materials. Therefore, it is recommended that sealing should be done after the stone has fully dried to ensure proper sealer absorption, and prior to consumer use. Drying time will vary depending on the stone, as well as the temperature and humidity level. After sealing, allow it to cure completely. Arizona Tile suggests using a solvent-based impregnating sealer for the initial sealing.
